Chidimma Adetshina is a former Miss South Africa Pageant 2024, she withdrew from Miss SA 2024 Pageant after a media backlesh where South African Citizens said she cannot compite in Miss SA 2024 beauty Pageant their reasons being they believed she's not South African Citizen, South African Department of Home Affairs discovered that Chidimma's mother committed fraud and identity theft to obtain Chidimma's South African Citizenship in 2001.
After she withdrew from Miss South Africa 2024 beauty Pageant, the organizers of Miss Universe Nigeria sent Chidimma invitation to compete in Miss Universe Nigeria 2024. Chidimma Adetshina has finally decided to participate for Miss Universe Nigeria, Former Miss South Africa Top 10 Finalist announced in a video that she will be participating for Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, she said "I'm so excited to be walking on this journey".

She has accepted the invitation from the organiser following her withdrawal from Miss South Africa.

Some Nigerians are against Chidimma Adetshina competing for Miss Universe Nigeria, they believe Chidimma only obtain her spot to compete for Miss Universe Nigeria because of her issue with South Africans and Miss SA 2024 beauty Pageant, one said "I'm sorry this is not fair!!!! She did not audition!! So because you have international drama... You've earned your spot to compete??? No not fair at all!!!!".
